L’Avocado (Persea americana Mill.) varietà è una pianta tropicale che si adatta bene alle temperature marittime italiane. Pianta arborea di alto fusto sempre verde con sistema radicale molto espanso. La chioma può raggiungere un’altezza di 15-20 metri. I fiori, in posizione apicale, sono ermafroditi, piccoli, riuniti in racemi e molto numerosi. La Varietà “Hass” presenta Frutti verdi di forma ovale-piriforme, di grandezza media, 200-300 gr. di peso, di eccellente qualità. La pelle è rugosa, di medio spessore e si pela facilmente. La polpa di colore giallo chiaro, senza fibra, ha un contenuto in olio che va dal 18 al 22%. Il periodo di raccolta va da fine Dicembre a Maggio.
Consigli: Possono sopportare senza problemi la siccità e si adattano abbastanza bene a qualsiasi terreno, purché sia ben drenato. Non amano venti freddi o temperature sotto 0, si consiglia di proteggerle bene in inverno, tipo in serra o teli TNT, prediligendo terreni sciolti ed abbastanza ricchi di materia organica.
Temono il marciume radicale e lo sviluppo di muffe o funghi nei pressi del colletto, favoriti dall’eccesso di annaffiature e dall’acqua stagnante, questo problema si risolve coprendo la buca di terriccio-pomice e lapilli attorno al ceppo radicale, senza ristagni Nota: L’aspetto della pianta pubblicata in foto, potrebbe essere leggermente differente rispetto alla pianta che vi viene spedita, sia per la stagionalità (presenza/assenza di foglie), sia perché nel mondo vegetale ogni esemplare è ovviamente unico. Inoltre, per ragioni di ingombro ed imballaggio, le piante potrebbero essere potate prima della spedizione, nb produzione italiana (Me)

The Pomegranate tree (Punica granatum) belongs to the Punicaceae family. It is a 4-5 m high, bushy, deciduous shrub.
The trunk of the pomegranate plant is very gnarled and branched with thorny branches. The bright green leaves are small, opposite and entire.
