I numerosi rami, a tratti decombenti, sono ricoperti di aghi rigidi quadrangolari di colore bianco-blu.
Ai fiori seguono i frutti dei coni cilindrici eretti di color marrone chiaro contenenti semi obovati.
Esposizione e clima: predilige i luoghi soleggiati o semiombreggiati; non teme il freddo e le temperature molto rigide anche inferiori agli 0°C .
Terreno: predilige il terreno soffice, umido a pH leggermente ben drenati.
