L’Arancio Arcobal è un ibrido ricavato dal incrocio fra un Limone Meyer e un Arancio Doppio Sanguineo. E’ una pianta vigorosa e spinescente. Ha una fioritura abbondante e ripetuta più volte proprio come il Limone Meyer. La buccia del frutto presenta delle striature che variano dall’arancio al rosso intenso e la polpa a maturazione è di un rosso scurissimo molto attraente. Il sapore del frutto ricorda un po’ l’arancia ma non è molto intenso. L’aspetto più interessante di questa varietà è sicuramente la il colore del frutto che in contrasto con il verde delle foglie e le bellissime e ripetute fioriture ne fanno uno degli agrumi più interessanti a livello ornamentale. La buccia è ricca di oli essenziali gradevolmente profumati. La polpa è lievemente acidula.
La fruttificazione è precoce ed abbondante. In presenza di periodi molto freddi (sotto ai -4 gradi) si consiglia di riparare la pianta con teli in nylon e di fasciare il tronco con tessuto non tessuto.
