Cortaderia Selloana Rosea or Pampas Grass is a perennial outdoor plant native to Argentina where it grows wild and belongs to the Graminaceae family. It is an upright evergreen plant that can grow up to 3 metres high and 2 metres wide. It has ribbon-shaped, drooping, deep green leaves with very sharp edges, while the white, feathery panicle-shaped flowers begin to appear in midsummer and last until spring. It is a cold-resistant but not frost-resistant and fast-growing plant that is ideal for creating borders or bushes, but also as a single specimen in flowerbeds; it requires a sunny exposure, adapting, however, to areas where half-shade is prevalent. Cultivation is very simple as it only requires fairly fertile soil and is also suitable in areas of poor irrigation.
