Pianta ben radicata di 80 cm di altezza totale, richiede pochissima acqua in inverno.
La Dracena Massangeana è una pianta da interno originaria delle zone tropicali dell’Africa e Asia ed appartenente alla famiglia delle Agavaceae. Si tratta di pianta sempreverde che coltivata in vaso può svilupparsi sino ad un metro e mezzo di altezza ed è caratterizzata da lunghe foglie a forma lanceolata che tendono a ricadere, di colore verde chiaro con striature e bordi verde scuro. Per le poche cure da dedicarle e per la sua caratteristica di purificare l’ambiente è molto apprezzata come pianta ornamentale da appartamento e ufficio; necessita di essere posizionata in ambienti molto luminosi evitando l’esposizione diretta ai raggi solari, ma tollera bene anche zone di ombra parziale. Un terreno universale di buona qualità è sufficiente per farla crescere bene mentre le innaffiature devono essere frequenti soprattutto nei periodi più caldi, evitando i ristagni idrici. E’ ideale vaporizzare le foglie per evitare che i bordi diventino secchi.
NB le foglie durante l’inverno non sono perfette,hanno alcuni aloni gialli, soffre un pò il freddo nelle serre
