The Ficus lyrata plant is a houseplant belonging to the Moraceae family and native to West and Central Africa. It has erect stems and slender branches, with elegant dark green foliage, sometimes tinged slightly with red or light green. Highly valued for its ease of cultivation, it thrives well in very bright environments, but not in direct sunlight. It loves heat and does not suffer when temperatures reach 30 °C. In summer, it can be moved outdoors to a shady spot away from draughts. Water about twice a week during the hot season, avoiding water stagnation and keep the humidity high by frequently steaming its leaves. Ideal temperature: 18-20 °C. Family: Moraceae Origin: West and Central Africa Light: plenty of light, not direct sun Minimum temperature: 5 °C Watering: keep the soil dry, avoid waterlogging, in winter little water. spray the leaves monthly in warm dry weather.
