Nocciola Tonda Lucana: La Tonda lucana è la varietà più diffusa nel sud Italia, la pianta infatti è molto vigorosa e produttiva, usata anche dalla Nutella. Il frutto è di medio-grossa pezzatura, dalla forma arrotondata e sapore marcato, inoltre possiede una buona distaccabilità della pellicola. La pianta predilige terreni sciolti con buona percentuale di sostanza organica, da evitare i terreni troppo compatti con ristagno idrico. Presenta un’ottima resistenza alle patologie e ottima resa/ettaro. Il periodo di fruttificazione è Settembre circa, leggermente più tardiva rispetto alla Tonda Gentile delle Langhe.
Questa varietà è particolarmente ideale per l’impollinazione della varietà Tonda Gentile.
