The Red Lemon plant (Citrus x volkameriana) is a fruit tree from India and of high ornamental value. It produces distinctive fruits that turn red or bright orange in the winter cold, with wrinkled skin and elongated shape. The fruits have a more sour taste than the classic lemon, with yellow flesh, ripen in autumn-winter and are initially green-yellow in colour. The leaves are oval and glossy and deep green, with very fragrant white flowers in spring and summer.
In cooking, it is particularly used as an ingredient in the preparation of ACE juices.
In the winter period keep the plant protected from frost, in a bright place with constant temperatures, watering sparingly.
