The Callistemon o plant pipe cleaner, a shrub with an original and decorative design grown in the garden and on terraces for ornamental purposes due to the distinctive shape of its vermilion-red flowers.
Exposure
It is a long-lived perennial shrub that requires sunny or at most semi-shady exposures to produce abundant flowering. It tolerates cold weather and harsh winter temperatures quite well provided it is grown away from strong winds.
Land
Callistemon is an ornamental plant that prefers slightly acidic, moist, fertile and well-drained soil, but it really does adapt everywhere, flowering twice a year.
Watering
The plant grown in the ground, although it generally makes do with rainwater and withstands dry periods, requires regular watering during flowering and in hot weather. Callistemon grown in pots should be watered more frequently and when the soil is completely dry.
